I’ve been reading from Robert Alter’s translation of the Pentateuch. I sat down this morning to embark on the tabernacle narrative of Exodus, which chornicles in almost painstaking detail how, of what, and by whom the Israelite’s tabernacle is to be created, so that God may meet there with them. The song that starts playing (my iTunes is set to random)?
“Take me there to the place where You are, take me there, I just want to be where you are. Hide me in your shelter, hide me here, I just want to be where you are!”
Sometimes, God has a bit of a sense of humor!
